Registration

  • Registration and housing will open at noon EST on Wednesday, June 12th.
  • All speakers must register for the conference and pay the applicable registration fee.
  • ICMA does not cover the costs of registration or travel.

Speaker Requirements:

  • Log into the Speaker Management System using the link and password included in the speaker invitation email sent from conferenceteam@icma.org.
  • Several tasks are past due. Be sure to complete them as soon as possible. Please note that speakers may be removed from a session if tasks are not completed in a timely manner. The past due tasks are:
    • Speaker Invitation- accept or reject the invitation to speak.
    • Sign the speaker agreement.
    • Confirm or update your profile information (this information will show on the conference website and in the app).
    • Review or update your biography.
    • Update or upload your photo.
  • Tasks Due by Monday, June 3rd (note: Only one speaker/session will have these tasks assigned to them). These tasks are optional.
    • Update the session title.
    • Update the session description.
  • Tasks Due by Friday, August 30th:
        • Agree to the copyright permissions task (you may not use copyrighted materials without written consent from the original author).
        • Answer the question regarding languages you speak.
  • Tasks Due by Friday September 6th:
          • Upload presentation slides (PowerPoint)
          • Upload handout materials (if any are being provided)
  • The conference branded PowerPoint template must be used for all sessions containing an on-screen presentation.
  • Session rooms are set for the week and cannot be adjusted for individual sessions.  All rooms will have AV equipment in them, allowing for the use of PowerPoint in any session.
  • Adhere to the deadlines set by ICMA and respond to inquiries regarding your session in a timely manner.
  • Speakers should show up early and be prepared for their session. You will be asked to check-in at the Speaker Ready Room (330) in Pittsburgh prior to your session.
  • This is an in-person conference, you should expect to present your session in Pittsburgh.

Session Information

  • Sessions are scheduled between Saturday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 25.
  • Your session liaison should have informed you of your assigned time slot.  If they did not, you may find it in the full conference agenda.
  • We will record some of the sessions in Pittsburgh. If your session is being recorded, you were informed of this via email.  Recordings are the property of ICMA.
  • Education session style sessions should allow at least 15-20 minutes for Q&A.
  • Discussions and Skill-Building Workshops are meant to be interactive sessions, facilitated by you the speaker.
